Iditarod 2019, furthest to 24h rest, RESULTS are in

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Iditarod 2019, furthest to 24h rest, RESULTS are in

While you are using your own type of sorting hat to figure out Top Ten Picks and Fantasy, you now also have the chance to do a guesstimate on who will go longest for 24 hour rest this year.

The rules are copied from last year, as always :)

Please post who will go the furthest (and where & when they land) before taking their 24-hour required layover in the 2019 Iditarod. This year, they are going down the southern route.

Post your picks for the following:

1. Musher
2. Checkpoint
3. Date & Time into checkpoint, Alaska Time

IMPORTANT NOTE: All picks are final when the first musher reach Finger Lake (a bit extended since we're a bit late).

This one is just for bragging rights..

Scoring system:
  • 10 points for correct musher
  • 10 points for correct checkpoint
  • 12 - delta (correct hour, guessed hour). Meaning you get 12 points for guessing withing one hour, and then 12-hour diff down to 0.

For instance, if you have a time diff of five hours, you will get 12 - 5 = 7 points for guessing the correct time.

Last year, the winner actually picked both musher and checkpoint!
