TX - keep up - she's moved on to the next thread :)

(currently camped out 35 miles past Ophir. Should be there until ~6:30 AK?)

and here he is - 22:55 and he's just arriving in Ophir. Nice maths, Mira! <high five>

#14 Jessie Royer can leave at 06th. Mar at 22:31 from Takotna.

As of 22:55, no sign of Jessie moving. Her tracker hasn't even turned green yet :(

OH! I tell a lie - the standings have her out of Tak at 22:33 - but her tracker is still in Tak. Drat. They're going to have to fix that, or it's going to be a long anxious wait for us, trying to figure out where she is all the way to ID.

And now it's working again, showing her on the trail at 6.8 mph. Never mind. Pay no attention...

Yai!

Actually, it wasn't that hard to assume high speed on the first leg after 24 hours rest..

The traveling times to Iditarod, Shageluk and Grayling to Kaltag (with or without Eagle island) is much harder to predict.

Watching this evening's vids.
  • It looks really warm in Tak - Pete Kaiser just in bibs and a light down jacket and a ball cap on his head, open at the neck.

  • Martin is taking his 24 in Tak. His dogs looked perky coming in.

  • Jessie R has lovely blue lighted collars on her front three dogs.

If this weather forecast is right, I guess the ones leaving Ophir now is quite lucky. No precipitation for the next 12 hours or so.
