This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Sorry to see Massicotte out too. He was impressive at the start, but yeah, guess it's hard to switch from sprint to long distance unless you have some experience with it.

Anyone have any idea what's up with Quince? Only about 20 miles out of Cripple, and GPS shows stopped for 8 hours???

He's 46 miles behind the next team, with no one behind him to push his team along.

I get Richie - he's been battling that since Nulato - a real pity.
But I don't get Aaron P. He'd gotten as far as Shak and was posting good times. Wonder what happened?

And now the Beringtons have scratched in Unk
The Berington sisters made the decision to scratch due to a death in the family and for the good of their race teams. Anna Berington had eight dogs in harness at the time she made the decision to scratch. Kristy Berington had 10 dogs in harness at the time she made the decision to scratch.
Best wishes to them.
