This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Is there a rule how much of the trail has to be finished to receive the belt buckle?
All my children have four feet and fur.

This has got to be the fewest number of mushers to cross the finish line in a long time - when these last two mushers cross the line that number will total 34. The number of scratches seems like it must be higher than many years, too.
And this has to of been one of the lowest counts of mushers starting.

Agreed Braider, but I don't have a mind for statistics, anyone else want to hunt that info down?
