This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

"As many of you already know, alongside training for Finnmarksløpet, our biggest race of the 2019 season,
we are working toward our dream of Petter taking on The Iditarod in 2020. It's a difficult and expensive quest,
and one that we need your help with."Awesome! Petter is from Sweden and won Finnmarksløpet in 2016 and 2018. I really hope he is able to fulfill his dream and race Iditarod next year!

He is Swedish, but that's pretty much the same.. I think most top contenders here dreams of Iditarod. Birgitte Næss say if anyone wants to sponsor her, she will do it. She estimates the expenses to be around 500000 NOK, that is around 60000 US dollars.
I am quite sure Kasin also dreams about iditarod

Wonder what it cost Dallas? Is he still being sponsored by Keller?

Just flying is expensive, I don't know what type of vaxx it's usual in US, for instance rabies isn't necessary here, but you need it if you want to go abroad with the dogs.
I think Keller does not sponsor any more, but I noticed, to my surprise, that Dallas is listed as part of a mostly Norwegian mushing team.
