This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

So sorry to see Nic had to scratch.
His marker that was green for a few minutes soon returned to the point and went back to orange.

Looks like Matt Tailor is stuck at the same spot. He's still there this morning.

It's a long rest, but currently, windspeed is 12 knots north, of course it isn't that much, but they are heading straight into the wind and it's dark. I expect Matthew Failor and the mushers in Shaktoolik to move on when it's getting light.
Currently, it's Linwood, Mats and Wade the only three moving on trail between Shaktoolik and Koyuk.

Thanks for the tracker snaps Mira and others. Frequent snap postings along this stretch from Koyuk into Elim and White Mountain will be greatly appreciated by us "outsiders" !!! The Top 10 are all running along that coast line now!
