Good Morning Iditabuds

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Morning 'Buds! It's warm and windy down here in the Lone Star state. I just brewed a fresh pot of coffee, and left some fruit salad and yogurt in the fridge if you are feeling peckish! :D

Just coffee for me this morning. I toasted an English muffin on the campfire out front and scarfed it down before coming in. I left a few on the counter for anyone of like mind. Sorry, I didn't make them. They're from my grocery store bakery and are pretty good. Okay. Off to catch up on the news.

MotninG.

Bump news... nothing to report

Windy night here, our fences all blew down around the dog yard, so spent most of the night up trying to save them from total distruction, didn't work, squeek got blown off her feet trying to pee, snippet was desperate but was too scared to pee and just ran back inside, the other dogs were all a bit freeked , bar sienna of course who thought it was fun and what was the big problem and wanted to sleep outside on top of their chill out platform...so got no sleep, currently digging out old posts to put new ones in and then replacing pannels to make it dog safe again.

I feel your pain. We had an ice storm come through a few weeks back, trees blown over, tops broken out and branches everywhere. Some came across the dog yard fence, so had to repair before turning the swarm loose.

Really been a bummer of a race season on this side of the pond with all of the rec races cancelled. How did you fare?

All races cancelled here too. Was going to go to race in Sweden but that got cancelled, so just kept dogs fit and running couple times a week, shame as they are doing really well this year.

After reading Tanglesfoot's post. the betterhalf said the sleepless night was just a practice run when the bump arrives! Yep, it's afternoon now, but I did a quick peek this morning, just didn't post! Morning /afternoon all!
