Nic is out of Nik with 13 dogs. Would be really good for him and his dogs mentally to make it to Nome.

Nick is running to Takotna at 10.7mph. Mile 315. Great!

Video Snippets from Tak:

  • Rookie Gabe Dunham: Going great. Most challenging was going over Rainy Pass in the huge windstorm - dogs lost the trail, so she had to go up and lead them. She's dialling in her gear - sending home all the stuff she hasn't used.
  • Rookie Riley Dyche: has been fairly straightforward with the conditions being what they were - hasn't been the sugarpit they thought it would. RP was 60 mph winds, though, but still beautiful in the full moon - mountains all around, snow blowing in a ground blizzard. On the way to Nik you're looking over your shoulder at the back side of the AK Range which is cool. Beautiful coming into McGrath with the mtns and blue skies.
