Hurricanes

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Thinking of the Iditabuds in Texas in the line of Hannah. Be smart. Stay safe.

fdf -- not in our area. Hanna caused a couple of days of flooding in the southern tip of Texas then quickly turned south into Mexico.

The coast line that caught the brunt of Hanna was basically from Corpus Christi south to Harlingen and into Mexico. Padre Island National Seashore. We got a few rain squalls wrapping around the north side of the eye but not enough to break the drouth. We need more!!!

We are far enough inland (just above Charlotte, NC) that all we got and are getting are rain squalls. It sounds like it will run up the eastern US and dump wind and rain on the coastline.
