Scratches

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Ha. Same here. And apparently I have 2 twitter accounts, one set up in 2014 and one in 2015. Couldn't remember the password to either because I never tweet. and one was under the name "MATILDE TURCIOS". :? :? Info was correct, so I probably set it up but I have NO idea where that name came from!!!!

I seem to think he was struggling back in Rohn and there was some discussion then as to if he'd continue, but he opted to keep going for a bit.

From Rick's FB page:
**IDITAROD UPDATE**
This morning at 930 Rick made the decision to scratch from the race.
I just got off the phone with Rick, ALL the dogs left are in perfect condition!
He and the dogs are in good spirits and we will update you more when Rick Casillo returns home, and we are able to communicate better.
Unfortunately there's limited communication but dont worry everyone is OK!!

Sounds like that bug hit teams hard this year, it’s going through our team and a friends team we train with at the mo over here. That time of year.
