I changed the topic name to include the stretch to Iditarod.

Ryan has done his 8 hour, so I guess he will continue to Iditarod for 24 hour. Aaron has always done his 8 hour. Brent has not so he might aim for 24 in Ophir?

Thanks for updating the topic name Mira :D

Brent 24 in Ophir - I can see how that would work.

Brent in Ophir - and out again after 11 minutes.

Bruce and Greg in Ophir reported colder weather due over next few next few days, which suits Brent's team - and Dallas too. Forecast to turn warmer. So maybe Brent plans to cover ground now and take rest during the warmer spell.

Interesting, Brent will need to rest on trail, but I guess he wants to get much of his 24 in warmer weather. What is the usual traveling time, 16 hours with rest?

I remember Joar a couple of years ago, it was so slow going. Reaaaaaallly slow.

Anyone know how many miles are on that part of the trail?

Dang, I was kind of looking forward to seeing how the loop played out. I believe about 20 miles.

Will be interesting to see how they meet and pass each other. Hope there is enough room for safely passing each other.

Teams will have practiced head on passing, we do from time to time, there is usually a rule re outgoings teams giving way to incoming teams, or uphill giving way to downhill teams if head on. The trail will be narrow but they shouldn't have a problem. The only place it will be is if reports that there is a 4 foot deep trench to mush down coming into out of iditarod due to the deep snow there
