This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Here we go now...DSC08961.JPG
The lantern stays lit until the last musher comes in, a tradition started many a year ago...

Congrats Liz! And
poor Molly, how she tried ... so tough to get so close and have to scratch. You're still a champion! Brave and strong! Looks like she had to return to White Mountain. Looooong night/day.
C'mon Deborah! You can do it!!

Here's a nice article about Molly in her hometown paper. I emailed the author and suggested he follow-up. I'm sure Molly has quite a story to tell!
http://www.recorder.com/story.cfm?id_no=4890641I wonder if Deborah went back to White Mountain with Molly? and maybe now is continuing on? Go Deborah!

This just posted on the Iditarod forum site re Deborah Bicknell - info from Joanne Potts - Race Director
"Molly scratched in White mountain. She just didn't have lead dogs anymore. She is in Nome and fine and said it was a great experience. Deborah is about 15 miles from Safety and coming in. But we're looking at 9 or 10 tonight probably. She is coming though. We're updating as we get information.
Joanne"
GO DEBORAH GO -- You're almost there!
