Brent has stopped at 10:10 pm for a break a few miles before the blowhole (beach area).

Dan has left Elim after a two hour break. Will he be travelling with his headlight off? (there's a nice moon).
Richie has gone out after him, after a 1 hr 40 min break.
Aaron B and Pete just arrived in Elim.

Both Mille and Michelle are stopped 22 miles past Koyuk where the trail crosses the mouth of the Kwik River - wonder if it's still blowing pretty good out there. Mitch is still snug in Koyuk after being blown off the trail twice just outside town.

From Danny:

It appears the infamous Topkok Blowhole has stopped Brent Sass. He has stopped twice now on the way from White Mountain to Nome. The first stop was an hour in the Topkok foothills from 10-11 pm, then he got moving again but went just three miles to the Topkok Shelter Cabin. It's blowing 40mph with gusts to 60mph in the area. At 40-45 mph wind can knock a standing person over, and on ice, with poor visibility and spotty markers, it can be downright terrifying. The last time I was there was one of the scarier experiences of my life. There's a reason they built a shelter cabin there.

Dallas is still about 10 miles back at the moment, but if Brent stays stopped, we could easily end up with both teams stopped there waiting it out.

I can't even watch... :(

In other news, Dan passed Jessie again, climbing the hill to get off the ice after Elim, with Richie and Pete climbing behind them.

...and now he's moving again at sensible speeds - 7.7 mph - after stopping for 30 mins.

His lead has dropped from 20+ miles to 9 miles.

Is there some shelter in the area where Mille/Michelle stopped? I think it's the same place as Dallas stopped. Might be because of available water for the dogs?

The chasing pack... it's like Dan is playing cat and mouse with Jessie. He stops to snack and Jessie lopes off... and then Dan catches him again, seemingly effortlessly. They just reached the Golovin spit.

Richie is fending off Pete - but only just, he's only a mile ahead (they're nearly to Golovin Bay).

Aaron B is in the foothills before Golovin Bay, while Ryan and Chad are nearly to the top of the climb leaving the ice.

Much further back, Mille and Michelle are still hunkered down in their shelter cabin (yes, Mira - a shelter cabin is there).

Back in Koyuk, Paige and Hanna just showed up. Paige's team were frosty but happy looking, tails waving.

I'm flying to England tomorrow to see family - so trying to mess up my body clock as much as possible. The clock change threw me for a loop, but not as much as staying up all night watching the tracker ;-)
