Return of the entire Yukon Quest??

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. I hope the Yukon Quest can return to being the International Race it once was.

Hope so, sounds like a new team is forming to put it on.

I hope so. I agree, Tangles, sounds like some folks on both sides are wanting, and working toward this!

Brent is certainly looking amazing in his run this morning! He has hardly stopped at checkpoints long enough to eat! I am noticing a lot more pictures and progress reports from my she's families and handlers this year. That makes it fun to follow on FB (the only social media I follow).

Are you guys watching Amanda Otto in the YQ550? She just pulled off a super move to plant herself firmly in 2nd place.

Per Wade Marr's wife, Amanda had been banking rest for a while - and did a super-long run to Nenana which is the location of a compulsory 6 hour rest, overtaking both Wade and Nic in the process.

A reminder that Amanda works at Jeff King's Husky Homestead, so she's been learning from a pro.

Sadly she's not signed up for Iditarod this year. Anyone know if someone else will be running their dogs this year?

LCT, She also overtook Riley Dyche in that oh-so-smooth sashay right into Brent's back pocket, he must be wondering how she teleported herself from 5th to second in one ( long) run.

Makes me happy to see the ladies getting their mush on !
