Anchorage, Alaska – Rookie Iditarod musher, Jennifer LaBar (bib #13), of Healy, Alaska, scratched at 8:30 p.m. today at the Rainy Pass checkpoint.
After speaking with medical professionals, Jennifer made the very difficult decision to scratch due to a hand injury sustained earlier in the day.
LaBar had 13 dogs in harness when she arrived in Rainy Pass, all in good health.

some video on insider of her actual crash, she trapped her hand under her handlebar and dislocated her finger. made it to the CP to get it looked at, shame she scratched. the crash didn't look too bad either

Sure, they could just strap it to the neighbour, but it hardly the most recommended way to treat it, if you ask a doc

Brent is out. He scratched in Eagle Island. He has an infection and they are flying him out. Bummer

Well, cr*p.
Had an uneasy feeling last night when he didn't leave on time, and then knew something was very wrong this morning when he was still there after nearly 10 hours.
He sounded like he had a mild cold in an interview way back before McGrath.
So bummed for him.
