It is 80 miles from Ophir to Iditarod

Brent just arrived in ID - 12:30 pm ish. He left Ophir at 01:00 am, so an 11.5 hour run with a short 1hr 40 min break 36 miles (~mile 388) into the run.
He definitely cut his run on this leg, gambling on making a jump with fresh dogs. Until Jessie arrives in ID, we won't know if that gamble paid off. Jessie still has 7 miles to go, which puts his arrival at around 2:00 pm

Jessie, left Ophir at 0:49 am, and stopped at 8:00 am at mile 408 and restarted up at 11:10, so 3 hrs 10 mins rest - so longer, but still a little short.

Comparing to Ryan, Richie and Pete and the pack behind them is harder, since they started 2.5-3 hours earlier - and right now they aren't showing times for Ryan or Richie through Ophir, which is really messing up the standings.

Richie in the lead pack stopped at 4:30 am at mile 385. Restarted at 8:30, so 4 hour rest (trying to figure out if that's Don's Cabin?)
Ryan behind him stopped in the same place at 4:45. Restarted at 8:45, so 4 hour rest
They were then joined by Pete at 5:15 (right around when Jessie and Brent passed that resting group). He restarted at 9:00, so 3:45 rest.

Around 9:40-45 Nic and Kelly passed this rest area.

And Matt Hall stopped there at 10:00 and is still resting

Eddie joined the resting group at 6:40. He restarted at 10:25 (right as Matt Failor passed)... a 3 hour 45 min rest

Matt Failor stopped to rest at 6:00 about a mile before the above group (~384), restarted at 9:40, so 3 hours 40 min rest

Jessie R stopped at the popular spot at 11:45 and is still resting

Mille stopped a mile before Matt (~383) at 7:15, restarted at 11:40, so 4 hours 25 mins rest

Figuring out Nic and Kelly is even harder :) and I'm not even going to try, except to say that Nic rested between McG and Tak, say around mile 322, ran to mile 372-ish, pulled WAY off the trail (1,500+ ft)(guessing since he knew the entire pack would pass, this would give the dogs some peace) and rested for 5 hrs 30 mins.

Jessie Holmes and Brent Sass are able to leave Ophir at 00:47 and 01:00. rewinding the GPS shows that Diehl/Redington left Ophir aroud 00:10-00:15.

From earlier today, but looking forward to get them into Iditarod so we hopefully can get better standings. Nicolas doesn't have a pattern, as usual. or perhaps he has, it's just hard to figure it out

Jessie just showed up in ID - at 1:35, so 25 mins earlier than expected. There's a bit of a lag between the GPS trackers and real life.

That makes Jessie's run 12 hours 45 mins, subtract the 3 hr 10 min rest = run time of 9 hrs 35 mins.

(Compared to Brent's ~9 hr 50 mins run time)

Richie is just five mins behind Jessie, but can't calculate his run time until they publish what time he (and Ryan) went through Ophir.

And I think they just said on the live feed that Jessie's going through ID - makes sense since he's only about 12 miles into this run.

Ryan just arrived in ID at 3:00 pm, just 20 mins behind Richie (he left Takotna 3 mins behind Richie)

(dogs are barking and lunging to get going again)

Pete into ID at 3:20 pm... left Tak 40 mins behind Ryan, arrived only 20 mins behind... but also cut his rest by 15 mins, so not a significantly different run time between him and Ryan. Looks like Richie is moving a little faster than them, though.

(secretly cheering "GO RICHIE!!")

Bruce and Heister in Tak on race strategy:

There are 10-12 teams that are right there. Although Bruce has picked a few teams that look really outstanding right now, they may not look that way in 24 hours.

They are reporting that the trail on the river is very wet and sloggy, so things may change in the next day or so.

They are moving on to Anvik on the river to do their next live reporting.

* * *

And I think they just said on the live feed that Jessie's going through ID - makes sense since he's only about 12 miles into this run.

Apparently I can't do maths to save my life. Jessie rested at mile 408, so was 24 miles into his run upon arrival at ID. He has now left ID.

It looks toasty there - mushers just in light puffy jackets and Pete removing his jacket and rolling up his sleeves to bare arms while feeding the dogs.

Keeping an eye on Kelly M who's resting at mile 417 (14 miles before ID) since 1:45 pm. Thinking he's on the same schedule (10 miles further down the trail) as Jessie Holmes and will blow through ID, so he'll be a sneaky one to watch.

Nic Petit has about 9 miles to go to ID and the trail is fast coming in there, so expect him around 3:30 pm.

Hmmm... another one to watch: Hunter Keefe?

There was a flurry of arrivals at ID with Hunter hot on Matt Failor's tail, who came in just five mins behind Eddie.

Going back and looking at stats, Hunter left Tak 3 hours behind Matt, and 2:45 behind Eddie
At Ophir, he had the fastest time from Tak to there, and shaved off 12 minutes.
Along the trail, he only rested for 2 hours 15 mins - but upon arrival at ID, his dogs looked great - barking and howling to get going.

Sure, he cut his rest, but the dogs didn't seem fazed by it any and he jumped up the stats by doing so, putting himself right up there with Matt and Eddie.
