White Mountain- Safety- NOME SWEET NOME

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Ryan left WM with 6 dogs, he had 8 in harness upon arrival.

North winds of 15 to 25 mph along with periods of blowing snow will develop along the Norton Sound Coast late tonight and
continue into Wednesday. Areas prone to north winds such as Shaktoolik and river valleys between Elim and Nome could see gusts
to 40 mph along with reduced visibility in blowing snow. The strongest winds are expected Tuesday and Tuesday night. The winds
are expected to decrease Wednesday night.

Ryan passed Howard Farley's camp...next is Fort Davis area...about 3-5 miles from Finish Line....
