Anyone going to Anchorage/Willow/Nome this year?

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Looks like I'm going to the Iditarod for the first time! I'm also going to Nome!

Anyone else going?

Hoping we can meet up somewhere!

The ceremonial start is neat, because you can see each musher up close. Don't forget to "run with the reindeer", that afternoon! I enjoyed my visit a couple of years ago. Have fun and post pictures in the Facebook Iditabuds group.

Nope,..for about the 15th year in a row "next year I'm going" won't materialize. But that's ok, wife out of work right now and have to cut some things out.
But NEXT YEAR,...!!
That Hotel Captain Cook place looks pretty nice...

StarDancer, did you make it up? I went to Nome over last weekend for a few days...plenty of snow there this year! Hope you make it!
