News from Team Norway #1

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Acording to Hurdal.com Jon Little has looked through the teams passing Koyuk and Backens was absolutely the most fit.
This is also statement from the vets, guess the musher was not taken into consideration... :o

Eskil

It is obvious that Kjetil has had a problem, small or big, I don't know, with the lack of leaders in his team this year. I don't know his dogs well at all, but what are you suggesting??? Did he come to AK with a team that could have had better or maybe more leaders? Did the three dogs that was droped make all the diff. Or have his leaders just not been up for the job at hand????

I have looked at the TN site and Kjetil's dogs several times. It says that Marius is a main leader and that Grayling, Lady and Lara are leaders. They also say that both Føn and Ivrig can function anywhere in the team. Kjetil was forced to drop both Grayling and Lara, but he still has Marius and Lady, pluss Føn and Ivrig on his team.
I also thought that Rolex was a leader, but watching Roberts video from last year, he doesn't mention Rolex as a leadertype.

Can you or anyone else enlighten me Eskil
