All Alaska Sweepstakes Leader Board

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

How many teams are still left to finish? And how many broke the old record for finishing?
Tried to read the offical standings, don't know how up-to-date they are. Thanks.

And how many broke the old record for finishing? fladogfan

AAS site gives Iron Man Johnson's record as 74:14:37, that's 3 days 2 hrs 14 min 37 sec.
The Curent Standings Board says Jim Lanier came in 6th at 3 days 00:52:00 and Smyth was 7th at 3 days 03:12:00. The top six teams broke the old record.
This does assume that the results will be confirmed as they stand after 24hrs.

That's awesome! And I read somewhere that Jim Lanier had said he just wanted to beat his previous placing (red lantern). He certainly did!!
