This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Maybe the top 10 will beat the record finish time of 74:14:37!!! What a way to celebrate the 100th anniversary!

Looks like Jeff made the outbound trip in about 2 hours. IF he can keep that speed, they would be in around 9:30-10:00 pm AK time. WOW! Looks like Lance might be out of the win at this point.

Up until the Council (return) checkpoint, my estimated finish time was consistent at about 56, 57, to 58 hours for the whole race. Suddenly, it's jumped to 63.2 and 62.3 hours as of Topkok and Solomon checkpoints. 62 hours elapsed time would be 12:00 PM (midnight) Friday Mar 28 Nome time. Sigh....
