Thanks for posting that bit, Heidi. I AM glad that Zorro has left Seattle for Fairbanks!
I'm sure there is no-place-like-home for Zorro to recuperate.
Call me a worrywart ( I DO earn it,
. In the picture at the KOMOtv site one can see that Zorro's rear drive train is being "supported" in a blue sling that goes under his hips. He is still needing some assistance in getting around, but it is REALLY important to get him up and moving so he doesn't lose muscle tone.
There is no cord damage as the vets say, but he has a ways to go before he's out with the girlz.
Poor guy, I kindda know how that feels, having suffered a disc injury myself, it DOES take time for the nerve irritation to settle down. Regaining muscle deficit ----- I think thats the bottom line to the end of his sled-dog years.. that is hard.
6-8 months with some physical therapy and additional treatment was quoted as his recuperation time in a couple articles I had read. That should put him in good fettle for the girlz come fall, but then I wonder ( do I EVER stop wondering?)
if December/January puppies are a good thing in Fairbanks?
I will just keep on sending the best thoughts and prayers for BOTH Aries and Zorro, for speedy healing and the best outcome for both of them.
