Iditarod

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Tomorrow is the last day to withdraw from the race. Seventeen teams have already done so. I wonder if we'll see other teams added to that list tomorrow. If not, with 97 teams out there, if teams were spaced out at every 11 miles, they'd cover the trail from start to finish. :o

And let the mushers walk the 1049 miles, cheered and howled by the dogs? :-)

Okay. The moose admits to eating the brownies from Dilli's avatar, but denies eating the trail markers. Why would anyone eat a tasteless old splintery trail marker after partaking of Dilli's yummy cyber brownies? I just don't see it happening. :D
