Jessie Royer Iditarod finishes
2001 - 14th
2003 - 20th
2004 - 21st
2005 - 8th
2006 - 11th
2007 - 21st

That's a pretty good record. I've got her in my top five.

There are nice pictures from most all of her years in the Iditarod, a La Grande Odyssee Race in France 2005, as well as stories from her races, and more.

It's about time someone else noticed, Braider! I met her tonight at the banquet. She is VERY pretty, yet a very strong woman. I think she will be a force to be reconned with. She does most of her own kennel work and lives at a pretty remote place, used to even have to carry water.............still might. She's certainly on my TTP.

By the way, Braider, did you know one of her hobbies is braiding?

JeanieB... I'm surprised that more haven't picked her higher myself. I think she has probably been the top female finisher at least half of the times that she has competed.
Before I ever seen her name I knew a guy named Jessie Royer from here in Minnesota. Then I read her name on the musher list and in her profile the fact that braiding is one of her interests - how could I not be a fan. :)
Watch out Sigrid - you're in my top ten, but, Jessie is in my top five. :)

Happy Leap Day everybody. :)

Go J-Team! I never could understand why she is not regularly chosen to finish higher every year. She always pulls through at the end and gives a wonderful effort, but others are picked to finish ahead of her. Hopefully, one year she will also be recognized for the wonderful care she gives her dogs (as all of the mushers do.) But, in my opinion, she is still extremely special!

Edit: Also thank you to the BSSD for this board and all of the wonderful work they do promoting this fine race for us down here in the lower 48!

I'm back, Braider, and Jessie's team looked so cute in the purple bandanas and booties I made for her ceremonial start. She's hanging tough with the big guys, huh? No surprise for us!

Where are the Jessie fans?!

Hey JeanieB... It's been neat reading about your trip - thanks for sharing.

That's neat that you made bandanas and booties for her dogs.

I can't remember any woman that has beaten Jessie Royer in the Iditarod - Where could I find archives to figure this out?

I remember that Sigred finished behind her when she was ROTY.

Has Dee Dee? Anybody else?

2001 was her first Iditarod - 14th place - WOW!
21st - the lowest she's ever placed.

Here's nothing to sneeze at:
2010 15th
2009 8th
2008 14th
2007 21st
2006 11th
2005 8th
2004 21st
2003 20th
2001 14th

She just left Rohn in 5th place.

I've picked her for 2nd place ...after Rick Swenson. :)

Hey Braider,
I hardly ever come to the 'Follow the Musher' segment, but got annoyed no one mentions Jessica, so had to find someone to 'commisserate' with.

I am wondering; this year she has the following dogs: Kuling (age 12! Golden Harness winner), Aztec (veteran), Lucy, Montana, Linus (who I am pretty sure are hers - she had a peanuts litter), then Grace, Mariah, Porsche, M&M, GoJo, Borax, Ranger, Ruger, Jaguar, and Rolo. How might we find out if these are hers or Sebs? And veterans or youngsters?

Also, she started 58th - will be making up quite a bit at the 24!

Just curious.

2009 - 8th
2010 - 15th
2011 - 10th

Go Jessie! Great job this year!
