I'm just crushed that Pat was unable to finish his Iditarod dream! In a video interview with ADN before the race http://www.adn.com/2010/03/08/v-swf/1174457/iditarod-musher-and-cancer-patient.html he said "I'm a little upset about getting to Nome cause it's over. More importantly, if you can do this you can beat cancer." I think he had a lot of hope riding on this challenge.

But on the other hand, the outpouring of support and prayers he's receiving has to encourage him. Glad he and his dog team are safe, and I hope there are many more adventures in store for him.

Still able to smile, and what a nice smile it is. Good wife too, encouraging him for next year if he wants to try. Get well quickly Pat !

Hey, Iditabuds, I just saw Pat Moon in the Millenium Lobby, so he's out of the hospital. He's a tiny fellow! He has a cast on one arm, otherwise was looking quite chipper. Off to explore Anchorage a bit.

Thanks for that good news , JeanieB. He said in an interview his weight of 130# added to a sled wouldn't make the dogs too happy. :o  130# :o good grief, my right foot weighs more   well almost ;) Have fun exploring Anchortown, miss JeanieB.

Great to hear he won't be laid up to long! Now he can visit those villages and head to Nome to welcome some of the others as they finish!
