Karen Ramstead Scratched in McGrath

I'm so bummed for Karen Ramstead - she scratched in McGrath. No word yet on what happened, but I think her hand has been bothering her since she jammed a stick up it a few weeks ago.
As soon as I know more, I'll post here.

Huge disappointment for Karen and her fans. What a great person she is. Her smile is so contageous. (Did I spell that correctly? Doesn't look it. But you know what I mean.)

Surely Karen's luck will improve, she has had some bad luck past few years, skipped last year, and is always a great competitor and musher and cares deeply for her team and kennel, and the mushing community.
Best of luck Karen, we hope you keep racing and we see you again.
She is my favorite musher and favorite team, love those Siberians.

Karen is a class act. The chat around Nome was that her injured hand and ankle handicapped her race this year. I hadn't heard about Mark's accident. I hope everyone is on the mend at North Wapiti! Be well, guys! We'll be following wherever the dogs lead you, Karen!
