AN IMPORTANT REFRESHER COURSE FOR ALL FORUM MEMBERS.

Postby MelanieGouldFanBrian » Thu Mar 25, 2010 4:27 pm

Some fellow forum members have requested that we re-post our Forum Guidelines into the mainstream as they might be missed at the top where people tend to overlook locked threads after a while. So here they are!

*1- No Jerks. We are all human beings with differing opinions. Do NOT make personal attacks, chide, egg-on or troll. If you see a post that violates this rule, you can report it by clicking on the "!" ("Report This Post") icon next to the "Quote" button.

*2- We are a civilized community on the internet. The internet is a BIG place. Once you post something it IS here forever, even if you edit or delete, so keep that in mind when posting.

*3- Respect that we all have opinions; without them this big blue spinning ball we call earth would be a boring place. If at any time you begin to rage or obsess over the happenings on this forum....step back...turn off your computer...hug a loved one... and lighten up. If a thread irritates you, don't continue to participate in it.

*4- This is a a forum for FANS, not detractors of sled dog racing. If you are not in favor of mushing as a sport, or have a fundamental problem with dog sledding activities, you will not be welcome here.

*5- If you're asked to drop a topic by one of the moderators or administrators, please do so. They won't ask without a reason, but they may not always make the reason public. This board currently has Private Message (PM) abilities; use them to contact the mods and administrators if you have questions about forum policies. Posters that seriously abuse the forum guidelines will have their posts deleted without warning.

*6- These forums are sponsored and supported by the Bering Strait School District. They are available to children as well as adults. Many schools throughout the country (USA) and possibly the world are using the BSSD resources and teaching aids, so let's keep it clean and kid-friendly.

*7- We are here to learn, teach, discuss and enjoy dog sled racing, - not to figure out how to get around the naughty word filter. All discussion should be in polite English.

*8- Make use of the moderators and administrators. They are here to assist you if you have any problems or have any questions. You can contact them by using the PM function, the email function or the "Report This Post" icon (the red "!").

*9- Ask questions, teach others, share your experiences and culture, root for your favorite musher/team/kennel/country, make friends - and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
You ought to be thankful, a whole heaping lot, for the places and people you're lucky you're not."
