Mitch Seavey

Hello,

Here is a starter fan thread for Mitch Seavey, who will be running his 13th (actual number ?) Iditarod this year. Mitch was a Top Ten finisher last as the 9th musher across the finish line. In addition, he was the winner in 2004, and has been in every race since 1995. He also won a tough Kuskokwim 300 race this year.

The Seavey Family is somewhat of a legend in Alaskan mushing circles, with three generations having competed in the Iditarod and other races. Mitch's father, Dan Seavey helped Joe Reddington put the Iditarod Sled Dog Race together, and ran the event twice in the 1970's. Mitch's three sons have all finished the race.

Well it looks like Mitch is the only Seavey running this year. Somehow that just doesn't feel right! :| Well good luck to Mitch. He is always one of my favorites. It is also time for my yearly hello to the Seavey clan. I am a fan of you all! Please tell Tyrell to pry himself away from his new wife and his college books and get Ultimate Iditarod up and running again. Tyrell we will miss your perspectives on the race.

Mamamia .. Tyrell and his lovely bride are in Texas visiting with family friends, and Danny and Dallas may be way too busy providing support for Mitch and the two Belgian rookies who are running the Seavey teams of youngsters

Last year, JJ Keller sponsored Dallas in Irod 35 and is sponsoring Mitch this year .. JJ kept a great blog last year with great photos and videos .. will be doing the same again this year ..
Here's link to JJ Keller's iditarod pages to bookmark .. he did a great job last year following and updating Seavey supporters and will probably do so again this year
