This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Iditabuds, new and old.
This thread is a lot of fun to read, just in case you need something to pass some time in the coming weeks.
I will be on my umpteenth time doing a re-read.

Re-route and the breakers in Golovin and Elim - are they descended from the NZ shepherdess branch?

Piecing together some old and garbled folk memories - looks like the NZ Shepherdess was a well regarded Alaskan musher famed for her attention to breeding lines. She went to NZ to research sheep dogs. What came of that I can't make out. Apparently she met Lady Gail and Sir Kit once, but not sure where - and they were very fond of her.
Just wondering . . .is Golovin Elim maybe the secret place of the tiara's safe keeping?
