This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Nic Petit has Covid. Jeff King is running his team. Nic and the team raced really well this season. It will be interesting to see if Jeff and the team gel.

Sled #1 was from the Denali Ranger station, a historical honorary recognition of 100 years of service with the National Park Rangers.

And I understand that Amanda Otto is running Jeff's own A team, after being mentored by Jeff for 5 years or being in Alaska for 5 years and working for Jeff for two or some combination of those.

From interviews with Jeff, it sort of sounded like he was playing with retiring from racing.

It's obvious from his photos on FB that he's really enjoying his grandchildren.

I was surprised to learn Jeff driving a team. Good luck to him and them. Sorry Nic is sick.

Joe Redington, Sr. ... I read this today:
"Joe Redington, Sr., known as the Father of Iditarod, was selected to be the honorary musher for the 50th Iditarod. Joe who passed away in 1999 was represented by his great granddaughter, Ellen Redington. ..."
