This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Morning! Coffee's fresh and hot, as are the banana nut muffins warming on the stovetop. It's a mild, windless 40F here at Mooselook this morning. Despite the heaps of snow still on the ground, it feels almost balmy out there this morning.
I took a quick look at the standings. No real surprises yet. But I must say that I really admire Jeff King for jumping into his present situation, running an unknown team. Also think Nic is pretty cool to want his dogs, all trained up and ready to go, to experience the trail. Good on both these guys who aren't necessarily friends but share the love of the dogs and the race.
Wag more, bark less.

Got cold here, too, but no white stuff. Windy 40 degrees, quite the departure from yesterday's 81.

We had snow in Nebraska yesterday, which put me in the right mood for the Iditarod. It's starting to melt already. I am enjoying having the web cam up at work.

Good morning Buds! What's uo? Did Brent bury his tracker in a snow bank outside of Rohn. Interesting tactic! Wonder where he is, now?

Hehe - yess. Very exciting. Tried to find any updates on him, but so far nothing.
I'm updating Milles facebook, by the way.
Have fun!

Strangely, thunder was heard here last night as well, maybe half a dozen deep grumblings. Temp was in the 40s, no precip falling.
