Why was Hugh so slow getting to Cripple? Especially after claiming he wanted to 24 at Ruby?

I have a feeling there is going to be large contingent of Yukoners rolling through cripple in the near future.
The next 12 hrs are going to be very interesting. This may even get me out of bed on time in the morning!

Can anyone tell me how long Kjetil and Lance rested along the trail btn Ophir and Cripple? They posted approx 13:30 along the route, while Jeff posted approx 9:30.

4 hrs +\-

Minus rest time they had the same run time (aprox) as king.
That sense? It is almost early hear.

If Jeff went straight for Cripple without rest, then the time diff between him and the other two should be rest time. Followed them untill late last night (norwegian time) and they pretty much had the same speed all 3 of them. I suppose Lance and Kjetil rested for 3, 5 h.

That is what I thought as well Luna. I managed to get a quick look before I went to bed last night and the were travelling about the same speed.
This means that Lance had approx 3:30 rest along the trail to Cripple and the no rest in Cripple. Total rest so far 3:30, but is 19 miles up the trail.
Both Jeff and Kjetil has approx 7 hr of rest since Ophir.
Lance has chosen a different strategy than Jeff and Kjetil. Only time will show whitch strat will turn out the best.
There is a forcast for the Yukon valley saying snow both friday and saturday. Probabely not a lot of snow, but it will have some effect on the teams and it will benefit the teams that don't have to break trail. The next 24 hr will be certainly be interesting :) :)

Of the 3 in front, in my opinion, reading stats and looking at what they are doing, I think Jeff is the smartest/has the strongest team. He was able to run without rest all the way to cripple. By such a move he is able to give the dogs a longer and more consistant rest than Kjetil is, if they leave at the same time. Only time will tell who has the smartest plan :geek: :)

And Jeff is on the move again.
How long before Kjetil is to follow?

Hmm, Kjetil will have to work hard to get back in front. I believe this is a crucial point of the race and once behind, one has to work double as hard to get back up front.
Both Jeff and Lance is reall experienced mushers, one of them may fail down the line, but I don't believe both will fail. So, Kjetil must not get too far behind. Go Kjetil Go :!: :!:
