This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Aha. Hadn't thought of that. Were they purposefully configured for individual (or small group) updating?

I think so. 8 moving now... I read somewhere it was going to get 15 min updates on each musher so if they stopped for a "run to the trees"
, it wouldn't have them stopped
I made an assumption that it was a "rolling update" of those carrying the units!!

And speaking of which, if you haven't checked out the Google Earth thread at the top of the Mushing Top page, please do so. It's awesome. Way better than the ITC Tracker. (Sorry, but it's true.)

You are so right moose! It is awesome. Thanks John for posting this.
I bet they have all thought about switching boxes. I bet they'd get in too much trouble to do it though........

Google Earth is amazing (and fun!), but how are they tracking every musher?
