Jeff King's Surprise - 2008 Edition?

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Jeff King's Surprise - 2008 Edition?

Hey,

Interesting blog post today over at Jeff King's Husky Homestead site:

Husky Homestead Blog
http://huskyhomestead.blogspot.com/2008/02/ok-race-fans-truck-is-loaded-and-carrie.html

OK Race Fans! The truck is loaded and Carrie and I are on our way to Anchorage today to begin the three day Iditarod pre-race Start festivities.

The final touches have been made to my sled and I can't wait to unveil it! (The rules don't say anything about internal combustion engines, do they? What about Slurried Plutonium?? Bet there's a couple new rules next year!)

Hmmm....any speculation about Jeff's latest suprise invention? Will there be new rules warranted? Or, is it all a little pre-race mind game? We remember him arriving in Unalakleet with the smoking handlebars!

Either way, the King's are in Anchorage now for the start, and have waved goodbye to the homestead for the Iditarod 2008. The SBT kids will be at the Joe Reddington exhibit festivities on Friday evening at the Alaska State Museum, and may try to ask Mr. King if they get the chance!
