All Alaska Sweepstakes

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Hehe. Maybe you'll end up on Dr. Phil or worse.

"I married a dogsled racing fanatic and want out".

Let's hope it doesn't go that far.

Hey Guys,

We have been unable to get much information yet about coverage of the All Alaska, but we are offering them an All Alaska Forum on the site if they want to use it to post video, audio and so like we do with other races.

Once we get back to Unalakleet we will get in touch with some of the organizers and see what collaboration may be possible.

Here is a picture the kids took of the All Alaska Sweepstakes trophy at the EXCELLENT new Joe Redington exhibit at the Anchorage Museum on Friday.

Johncn,

It was good to see you in UNK last year, unfortunately I won't be able to make it there this year. I'm good friends with Phil Scholbert who is the Race Director, let me know if you need me to pass anything along, I'd love to see the BSSD cover the sweepstakes.

I was told that Sonny Linder and Rick Swenson will be pooling their dogs for this race again. AND that Sonny would be running them to Nome for training. Not bad training, eh?
