This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!
If you look closely on the ionearth map you can in fact see the airstrip by the lake where they are camped. I have also checked it up against my google earth points and the checkpoint has earlier been close to the airstrip. That means the current standings list was pretty uptdated all the time!
Whats up at the 133 mile point?? Have they all sat up camp and lit a camp fire? It`s really getting crowded up there.. Kjetil, Jeff, King, Sigrid and soon Ken too!! Must bee a very special spot right there.
Well, at least they have the next one correct, or at least almost. The checkpoint posn for Rohn on eonEarth is only 0,7 miles from the correct checkpoint position.
