This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Lance is out of Nikolai. He led Kjetil into Nikolai by three minutes. Lance made the crossing from Rohn in 15 hours; Kjetil in 9.5. Will Kjetil now follow him out or rest a while longer? Hmm.

And now that the trackers are back up, it appears King is in front of Mackey!

The latest update, just a minute or so ago, still shows Kjetil in Nikolai. Is the Tracker more accurate for movement?

Gebhardt's out ten minutes after Backen! Why does there have to be so much good activity as it's nearing bedtime in the East? (Sigh.) Too many late nights and early mornings are starting to take their toll.
Addendum: Now Zack Steer and Hans Gatt are on the move. Go Hans!!!!!!!!!

Guess we need to rest in the middle of the day, like the mushers do, for 4-5 hours, huh?
