Jessica Hendricks scratched

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

I was really shocked when I heard this. But I guess with the warm weather it's to be expected. :(

Karen Ramsden's dogs are fairly heavy coated, and I think there's at least one other Sibe team out there. I wonder how they're doing.

Moose, there are two other Sibe Teams out there, Blake Freking and Wayne (?) Curtis. Jennifer Freking is running several Sibes on her team, also. Karen is taking her 24 in Takotna. I for one am hoping this weather starts to cool very quickly.

Thanks, SiberianRose. I just remembered the Frekings and came back to edit my post. And thanks for Wayne Curtis. His was the name and team I was trying to remember. He was the first to finish with an all-Sibe team some years ago, if I remember correctly. Obviously, my memory is somewhat deficient these days! :D (I say these days, but it's not just these days...seems to be ALL DAYS!!)

Moose, don't worry. It's that time of the race where we all tend to get loopy. Or at least I do!
