POT LUCK PARTY IN THE BREAKERS BAR AND GRILL

This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Thanks for the fire warmup Tangles. I will attempt a "loo" cleanup and place a fresh roll, so Moose won't be scared off by the spid**s, you know she doesn't even like it when we spell it out! I wonder how many will stop by, Being at the race in person last year, I didn't even stop by! Some places just have a cozy feeling.
Proud PaPa of the triplet litter; Aidan (B), Bailey (G), and Cameron (B). Cameron is on top in picture; Bailey, of course, is the bowhead!!

Thanks guys. Good to know the fire is going and a pot of coffee on stove. I admit, I'm having trouble getting in race mode this year. We'll be on vacay for much of March (taking the whole clan to Disney  ) and with the Quest being split its been hard to get in the mood.

FP, I've been " around the edges" this year, catching happiness where I find it. Wild and Free was aces in the YQA 550, and OMG Amanda Otto just decided second place was going to be hers--so she ran a full 100 miles in one go, and passed Wade Marrs, Nic Petit and Riley Dyche. She snagged herself a 2 +hour lead over Wade and waltzed right into Fairbanks second behind Brent. Oof Da !

A young lady from Topsham, Maine is in AK to race. Tara Crossman has been in AK now since the New Year, and just finished the Willow Jr. 100. Her first 100 mile race, of course Emily Robinson and her brother owned it, but Tara finished, by doG. Next for her is the Jr Idit, I'l be fired up to watch her now that she's had her first dance.

Bring it on. Oh, there is a batch of blueberry muffins in the breadbox.

Happy Iitarod to all. Just stepping in to drop a big ol' soup pot full of roasted veggie zoop on the warmer! Then will head over to Irod Central to sign up for II! Am I really going to do that? Um.....yes! I've been running on empty in the passion department for too many years. Since Bullwinkle's passing. And I lost my beautiful Hawkeye LaRoo in December after a health crisis that began this time last year. I'm wallowing way too long and need to rekindle passion for the race. Bear with me, Buds. The hole is deep, but looking up, I think I see blue sky. Waving up at all ya'all.

I know what you mean Heidi, a lot of us feel the same way. I'm hoping all the race news and enthusiastic Iditabuds get me lifted up.

It’s not just the race itself, but my mom passed away and a couple other family members could be doing better. Hope you and Mr. FDF are doing well.

I’m always down for food and drinks so I’ll definitely hang out at the Breakers as much as I can! :D
