This is a forum for general discussion of dogsled racing, with a special focus on Alaska, and is open to all. It is expected that this area will see the most activity during the months leading up to, and during the annual Iditarod sled dog race. Pictures from races can be posted here. Hosting is provided by the Bering Strait School District (BSSD), and the area is open all year. Care to be one of our volunteer moderators? Contact us!

Bummer for him. He'd been nursing sick dogs for a while and Bruce had mentioned that his team were "fragile", so not totally unexpected.

It's always a bummer, but it's great to know that they stop racing when necessary.
Riley Dyche also scratched, in Iditarod.
38 teams on trail.

Kaiser Racing:
"Our SUPER sponsor Ryan Air is at this hour prepping an aircraft to pickup Pete and the Team. They will be home in Bethel this afternoon."
Excellent! They can rest and recuperate.
